Erik Martin: Getting to Know Adam Daniel and His Other Roles in Vertical Dramas
You may know him best as Erik Martin in “You Fired A Tech Genius,” but Adam Daniel has been in other micro-dramas this year that you need to know about.
Vertical miniseries are proving more and more that they are here to stay, and rising actors are finding success in a genre that’s still somewhat new. Adam Daniel is one of those talents, but he has big dreams… big superhero dreams.
With over five micro-dramas to his name and considerable theater education, he’s conquering this world and may surely become a well-known actor soon. Let’s find out more about him and the projects you should definitely watch.
The Man Behind Erik Martin
Daniel knew from a rather young age that he wanted to be in this business and specifically play Superman. It’s never too late, considering franchises like that get retconned every few years, and with his extensive training, he can certainly nail it.
The 5’9″ American actor earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at San Diego State University and studied Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.
Since graduating, he has been working on film, television, animation, and plays, standing out particularly with his physical comedy. Some of his education also focused on improv as he took classes at Improv Skull & Dagger in San Diego and at The Groundlings in Los Angeles, where he now resides.
According to IMDb, he has been an extra in productions since the 2000s, including an uncredited part in “Bring It On.” He was also part of the television variety special “The Jumpitz,” as Jake, and has acted in several shorts.
Daniel had another uncredited part in “Space Jam: A New Legacy” and played several small roles for the series “I’m Good!” His resume also states that he has been in over ten commercials and plays, but his focus for most of 2025 has been vertical dramas.
His social media has many posts promoting his vertical drama work, and several pictures of his family, including his niece, a few travels, and some selfies.
Erik Martin and Beyond
Daniel’s first micro-drama was “You Fired a Tech Genius,” where he played Erik Martin. In this story, Martin works in IT at a Silicon Valley company called Dorsey Tech and is looked down upon by his colleagues. But he’s so smart, he can even thwart major cyberattacks on their server.
A nepo baby has taken over as CEO and begins to fire people for seemingly minor offenses. Martin is let go as well once he’s discovered asleep at his desk after working all night to save the company. He is later betrayed by another employee, which almost lands him in jail.
However, the CEO of a rival business, Evelyn Hendricks, arrives just in time and offers Martin a job that will allow him to get revenge on Dorsey Tech. Of course, Hendricks is gorgeous, and love is part of their story.
Daniel was also in “Move Aside! I’m the Final Boss,” playing Kingsley Baldwin. In this drama, Baldwin returns from the military to marry Hannah Snees, the woman he has loved since childhood. But he isn’t just an ex-soldier; he’s secretly the CEO of King’s Corp and has funded her education.
On his way to reunite with Snees, Baldwin meets Charlotte Sinclair, the chairwoman of Sinclair Enterprises, who is seeking a contract marriage. He lies to her about his background, saying he’s just a soldier with no other education. She doesn’t care and still wants him, so he finally reveals that he has mistaken him for someone else.
Later on, when Snees rejects Baldwin, wanting a more successful man for her future, he decides to take Sinclair up on her offer to get revenge. But eventually, vengeance won’t be his main goal.
In “Kidnapped by the Devil,” Daniel becomes Nolan Sterling, an arms dealer, who kidnaps Mia Parker just as she was about to marry her fiancé. Similar to Netflix’s “365 Days,” these two will fall in love amid the dangers of a criminal life.
Moreover, Daniel acts as a cheating husband in “The Deaf Heiress’s Secret.” In this story, a woman regains her hearing after an accident and discovers that her husband only married her for the money she inherited after her parents died. But she plays along, pretending she still can’t hear anyone, to gather intel and get her revenge.
